What is K9 Nose Work™?
K9 Nose WorkTM is an activity and sport that was inspired by the real life model of working detection dogs. It was created to provide an opportunity for pet and sport dogs to have an outlet for their natural hunting and scenting abilities. Dogs working in this activity use their nose in order to locate a target scent odor. K9 Nose Work™ can be done anywhere allowing for dogs living in any setting to participate in this wonderful activity and sport!
How Will My Dog Benefit From K9 Nose Work™?
There are many benefits to participating in K9 Nose Work™. This skill, when developed in a dog, can build confidence, reduce environmental sensitivity, and provide both mental and physical exercise. Nose Work also provides a canvas on which the handler/dog team relationship can be built and strengthened. Angel K-9 is excited to provide K-9 Nose Work™ classes for our clients because these classes support two of our most important beliefs: that most dogs thrive when they are given a job and in the importance of creating a deeper relationship between owner and dog.
